150th Anniversary Celebration in Blackburn Cathedral
On Saturday 8th August Blackburn
Diocesan Mothers9 Union held the
Celebration Exhibition and Mary
Sumner Day Service in Blackburn
Cathedral. Branch banners from all
over the Diocese were displayed
all around the Cathedral. Our
Deanery was very well
represented and our banners
could be seen in the North
Transept together with displays
showing the Action and outreach projects- our teddies had a central
place!
Displays also included our projects raising awareness of Domestic
Violence and Modern day Slavery.
Bishop Philip lead a commemorative Eucharist in the afternoon and
spoke of the Mothers9 Union role of love and service to the community.
