refreshments. The Capsule is in the Diocese for just four days, coming to
us from Preston on Tuesday afternoon and going to Chorley on the
Wednesday morning
There are many events being held to support out celebration year and
these are upcoming:
Wednesday 6th May
Whalley Deanery Festival at St Cuthbert9s Church, Earnsdale Road,
Darwen at 7pm
Wednesday 13th May
Leyland Deanery Festival at St Leonard9s Walton le Dale, who are
celebrating their 125th Anniversary! Commences 7.30pm and followed
by light refreshments
Saturday 8th August
Celebration Exhibition and Mary Sumner Day Service in Blackburn
Cathedral. The day will commence at 11 am, Branch banners from all
over the Diocese are being displayed along with any history available.
Bishop Philip is leading a commemorative service in the afternoon
RISE UP Against Domestic Abuse
We are continuing to support the Mothers9 Union
campaign to raise awareness about domestic abuse.
We are working with our members to ensure that as
many churches as possible have information about the
24 hour domestic abuse helpline 0808 2000247.
The letters of RISE UP stand for:
Respond, Inform, Support, Empower, Unite and Pray.
